Mahāyāna Siddhi Adhikāraḥ
Kārikā Prathamaḥ
The artha̩jña̍, for artha vi̩bhāva̍nām, pra̩kuru̍te ̇s, ‸ (a) vācā̩, with pada̍ ̇s a̩nd a̩mala̍ ̇s, ¦
Of duḥkha̍, for the u̩ttara̍ṇa̩, in duḥkhi̍ta̩ jana̍, (tis), ‸ from kāru̩ṇya̍, ta̩nmaya̍ ̇d. |
Of dharma̍, from the u̩ttama̍ ̇st yāna̩ deśi̍ta ̇d vi̩dhi̍, (tis), ‸ in these sattva̍ ̇s, thi̩ther, in gāmi̍n ̇ng. ¦
For being śliṣṭā̍ ̇d, to the artha̩ gati̍, for ni̩ru̍ttara̩ ̇d gata̍ ̇ng, (tis), ‸ for the pañcā̍tmi̩kā, adarśa̍yan. || 1.1 ||
Kārikā Dvitīyaḥ
Ghaṭi̍ta'd, indeed, to su̩varṇa̍, ‸ (tis) to the vāri̍ ja̩, othe̍rwise, to the vi̩buddha̍ ̇d. ¦
For su̩kṛta̍, just so, for su̩bhojya̍ ̇ng, ‸ (tis) for being bhujya̍māna̩ ̇d, the kṣudhā̍, by these ā̍rta̩ ̇s. |
Vidi̍ta̩, like tha̍t, (tis a) su̩lekha̍, ‸ (a) ratna̩ peṭa̍, just so̩, muktā̍ ̇d. ¦
The vi̩vṛta̍, in thi̩s wo̍rld, wi̩th dharma̍, ‸ (tis) for (a) prīti̩ agryā̍ ̇st, da̩dhā̍ti. || 1.2 ||
Kārikā Tṛtīyaḥ
Which ma̍nner, for a bi̩mba̍, the bhūṣā̍, ‸ (tis) to (a) pra̩kṛti̩ guṇa̍va̩d the darpa̍ṇa̩ gata̍ ̇ng, ¦
The vi̩śiṣṭa̍ prā̩modya̍, ‸ (tis) made to jana̍ya̩ti, of these nṛ, from darśa̍na̩ ̇ng vaśa̍. |
That ma̩nner, the dharma̍, (tis a) sūkta̩ ̇d ‸ pra̩kṛti̍ (and) guṇa̩ yukta̍ ̇d; therefo̩re, is expansive consta̍ntly. ¦
The vi̩bhakta̍ ̇d a̍rtha̩, to tuṣṭi̍, ‸ (tis) jana̍yati ̇d for vi̩śiṣṭā̍, he̩re, of these satā̍ ̇s. || 1.3 ||
Kārikā Caturthaḥ
(Tis) ā̩ghrāya̍mā̩ṇa ̇d, for the kaṭu̍ka, for the svādu̩ rasa̍, which ma̩nner, for the au̩ṣadha̍; like tha̩t also, |
the dharma̍, dvaya̩ ̇s vyava̍sthā̩ ̇ng, from vyañja̍na̩ ̇ng the artha̍, no̩t also shall be jñeya̍ ̇d. || 1.4 ||
Kārikā Pañcamaḥ
Oh Rāja̩, ju̩st so, du̍rā̩rādha̍ (is) the dharma̩, (is) thi̍s one; the vi̩pula̍ gāḍha̩ gambhī̍ra, |
ā̩rādhi̍ta ̇d also̩, li̍ke tha̩t; doth the dvara̍ ̇ng guṇa̩ (of) dhana̍ dāya̩ka̍, bha̩va̍ti. || 1.5 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṣtaḥ
(A) ratna̩ jātya̍ (and) a̩nargha̍, which ma̍nner, for (an) a̍parī̩kṣa̍ka̩ jana̍, (doth) no̩t toṣa̍yati. |
The dharma̍, that manne̩r, (tis) thi̍s, for (an) a̩budha̍; from vi̩paryaya̍, (it) brings toṣa̍yati, like tha̩t. || 1.6 ||
Kārikā Saptamaḥ
At first, (tis,) from the a̍vyā̩kara̍ṇa̩ of sama̍pra̩vṛtti̍, from the agocara̍ of the siddhi̍. |
In bhāva̩·a̩bhāva̍, (tis) from abhāva̍, from prati̩pakṣa̍tva, from ruta̩ ̇ng a̩nyatva̍. || 1.7 ||
Kārikā Aṣtamaḥ
Pra̍tyakṣa̩, from cakṣu̍sa̩ ̇ng these buddha̍ ̇s, ¦
of śāsana̍, a̩nd these rakṣa̍ka ̇s, |
the a̩dhvany anā̩vṛta̍ ̇d jñā̩nā̍, ¦
from u̩pekṣā̍tas, (tis) no̩t yujya̍te ̇d. || 1.8 ||
Kārikā Navamaḥ
From vai̩kalya̍, from vi̩rodha̍, from anu̩pāya̍tva, (tis) that manne̩r; therefore, from anupa̩deśa̍. |
Not, for the śrāvaka̩yāna̍, (doth) thi̩s bhava̍ti; the mahā̩yāna̍ dharma̩ (so) ā̩khya̍ ̇d. || 1.9 ||
Kārikā Daśamaḥ
Of ā̩śaya̍, of u̍pa̩deśa̍, ¦
of pra̩yoga̍ from vi̩rodha̍, |
of the upa̩stambha̍ ̇ng of kāla̍, ¦
whence, (tis) the hīna̩, to hīna̍, like tha̩t, therefore. || 1.10 ||
Kārikā Ekādaśaḥ
In the svaka̍, from the ava̩tāra̍, ‸ of the sva̩ certai̍nly, ¦
in the vi̩naya̍, from the darśa̩na̍ also̩, |
from au̩dārya̍, therefore from gāmbhī̩rya̍, ¦
(tis) avi̩ruddha̍ ̇d, like tha̩t, the dharmatā̍. || 1.11 ||
Kārikā Dvādaśaḥ
Ni̩śrita̍, a̍ni̩yata̍, a̍vyāpī, ¦
(is) the sā̩ṃvṛta̍; (tis) kheda̩vā̍n, moreo̩ver. |
The bāla̩ ā̩śraya̍ (is) mata̍, (is) tarka̍; ¦
of tha̩t, there̩fore, the viṣa̍ya, (tis) no̩t tha̍t. || 1.12 ||
Kārikā Trayodaśaḥ
From audā̍rya ̇ty, like̩wise, from gāmbhī̍rya, ¦
(is) the pari̩pāka̍, the avi̩kalpa̍nā. |
The deśa̍nā, from thi̩s, of dvaya̍ ̇ty, in thi̩s, ¦
i̍t also̩, (is) the u̩pāya̍, in niru̩ttara̍. || 1.13 ||
Kārikā Caturdaśaḥ
So also, the a̍sthāna̩ trāsa̍, ‸ bhava̩ti ̇s, of these jaga̍t, the dāha̩ kara̍ṇa ̇ng. ¦
From the mahā̍ puṇya̩ skandha̩ ‸ pra̍sava̩ ̇ng karaṇa̍, (tis) for (a) dī̩rgha̍ sa̩maya̍m. |
A̩gotra̍, a̍sa̩nmitra̍, ‸ akṛta̩ ̇ng the mati̍ a̩pūrvā̍, (tis an) a̍cita̩ śubha̍. ¦
Trasa̍ti ̇ng, in thi̩s, in the dharma̍, ‸ pata̍ti ̇s, from (a) maha̩t, from the artha̍, the gata̍, in this wo̩rld. || 1.14 ||
Kārikā Pañcadaśaḥ
So also, the other ones, from abhāva; ‸ from the parama ̇st gahanatva, from anugama ̇ng. ¦
(Tis) of vicitra, from the ākhyāna ̇ng; ‸ from the dhruva (and) kathana yoga ̇d, from bahu mukha. |
Which manner, the ākhyāna, (tis) not from the artha; ‸ in the bhagavat, and from (a) bhāva atigahana. ¦
Not in the dharma, from this, (is) the trāsa; ‸ bhavati ̇s, of these vidvas, from the yoni vicaya. || 1.15 ||
Kārikā Ṣoḍaśaḥ
The śruta̍, having ni̩śritya̍ ̇d, in the beginning; ‸ pra̩bhava̍ti ̇s (a) mana̩skāra̍, now, fu̩ndamentally. ¦
The mana̍skāra̩ a̩jñāna̍ ̇ng; ‸ pra̩bhava̍ti ̇s also, (a) tatva̩ a̩rtha viṣa̍ya. |
Thereupo̍n, the dharma̩ prāpti̍ ̇ng; ‸ pra̩bhava̍ti̩ ̇s also̍, in tha͈t, (a) mati̍, from thi͈s. ¦
Which ti̍me, for pra̩tyātma̍, (tis) she; ‸ prayte̩ll, asa̍ti̩ ̇s, in tha̎t, the vya̩vasi̍ti. || 1.16 ||
Kārikā Saptadaśaḥ
I̩ (am) not bo̍ddhā, no̩r gabhī̍ra̩ bo̍ddhā. ¦
The buddha̩ (is) gabhī̍ra, for wha̍t!, for (an) a̩tarka̩ gamya̍. |
Wherefo̩re, for the gabhī̍ra̩ a̩rtha vidā̍, (tis) not mo̩kṣa. ¦
Just so, thi̍s, for (an) u̩ttrāsa̍ pada̍, (tis) no̩t yukta̍ ̇d. || 1.17 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭādaśaḥ
The hīna̍ a̍dhi̩mukti̍, (tis) from (a) su̩ni̍hīna̩ dhātu̍, ¦
by these hī̩na̍ ̇s, with sa̩hāya̍ ̇s, of (these) being pari̩vārita̍ ̇d. |
In (an) au̩dārya̍ (and) gāmbhī̩rya̍ su̩deśi̍ta ̇d, in thi̩s, ¦
in the dharma̍, (is) adhi̩mukti̍; if no̩t, asti̍ ̇s for the si̩ddha̍. || 1.18 ||
Kārikā Navadaśaḥ
With śruta̍ a̍nu̩sāra̍, veri̩ly, for (a) buddhi̩ matta̍ ̇d, ¦
having labdhvā̩ ̇d, amongst the aśruta̍ ̇d, (tis) he whom pra̩karo̍ti ̇s (an) ava̩jñā̍. |
In śruta̍ ̇ng, in vi̩citra̍, in sa̩t, also̍ in the a̍pra̩meya̍, ¦
in the śiṣṭa̍ ̇ng, from where, ni̩ścaya̍, (doth) eti̩ the mūḍha̍. || 1.19 ||
Kārikā Viṃśaḥ
Which ma̍nner, in (an) aruta̩ ̇d artha̍, in (a) pari̩kalpya̍ mā̩na̍, ¦
the sva̩pratyaya̍, to (a) hāni̩, upai̍ti ̇s, from the bu̩ddhi̍; |
for the svā̩khyāta̍tā ̇d, also̩ kṣipa̍ti ̇s, to (a) kṣa̩ti̍ also. ¦
It prā̩pnoti̍ ̇s, upon the dharma̍, for prati̩ghāta̍, in thi̩s way. || 1.20 ||
Kārikā Ekaviṃśaḥ
The mana̍s pra̩doṣa̍, the pra̩kṛti̍ pra̩duṣṭa̍, ¦
[......], indeed, (an) a̩yukta̍ ̇d rūpa̩, |
befo̍re, like tha̩t, (tis) of sa̍ndeha̩ gata̍ ̇ng, in the dha̩rma̍. ¦
From tha̍t, the u̩pekṣā̍, just so, pre̩fera̍bly indeed, (tis) a̩doṣā̍. || 1.21 ||
