Upon The Transcendence Measures Division Fully Grasping, A Summary Verse

Calculation, certainly that, for a characteristic, tis very much abundant. ¦

Etymology, upon very much having qualities, also, is amongst them. |

For breaking apart, for collecting together, the alternative view, ¦

shall be the known; the characteristic, one to another, without a doubt, also. || 16.1 ||

Upon Consideration Of The Tripartite Division, Six Verses

The source of pleasure in self nature and existence perfection, ¦

the wandering about and commence to exert an action perfection, are the beginning. |

To impurity most reluctent going, thereto, also, ¦

in these actions, constantly, tis the correct comprehension. || 16.2 ||

In these true ways, the well engaged, ¦¦

by detaching and non·aggressions bearing up, doth act. |

In these objects of pleasure, and the displeasure, ¦¦

the intensity, the heaviness, in duality, the exuberance also, |

Contemplation, is for support, having a recourse, to ¦

the mind, tis for effort, that manner, tis for thoughts, |

for expedient means, and for an awakened buddha nature also; ¦

of all of them, just so, tis explained. || 16.16 ||

The beginning, of a skillful means, ¦

the conscious intention, is a foundation well determined, |

for a dual advantaged nature of existence turning out well, ¦

for the dual benefit fulfilling. || 16.17 ||

For the generosity so combined, that also, ¦

the one who apparently supports others, is upon duplicity without dismay. |

The giving, in this way, having all around understood, ¦

For the six aspects of quietude of an existence's conclusion, ¦

for a well going position's stability bestowing, |

A fully gathering righteousness, was for attaining, ¦

upon these vows of restraint standing, it was known. |

For moral precept, in this way, having all around understood, ¦

For the patience mental impression knowing, ¦

The austere effort, having much strengthend, for being fully joined together, ¦

The upward exertion, in pious virtue, tis similarly bound. ¦

From reverence, is the aspiration abiding within. |

Steadiness of formost attribute obtained; ¦

in those, the seven types also, is he. |

Rejected, by those of Buddhas brought forth, is a self existence, thereto, ˰ having attained, for the devout mendicant, always. ¦

From a compassion, on high, not also, is the return gesture, ˰ not a desirable fruit, for getting ahead. |

By generosity, just so, also by that, is the entire community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Generosity, with knowledge fully comprehending, also again, ˰ in the world, tis for sacred wisdom established. || 16.36 ||


Kārikā Saptatriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (2)

Obtained, by those of Buddhas brought forth, holding and upholding identical with, ˰ is the morality triad, always. ¦

The divine realm of light, tis not desired, having been completely achieved, also again; ˰ clinging, tis not, therein, much encouraged. |

By morality, just so, also by that, is the whole community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Morality, with wisdom everywhere grasping, also again, ˰ in the World, tis for the imperishable established. || 16.37 ||


Kārikā Aṣṭātriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (3)

Patience, by those of Buddhas brought forth, tis most arduous, thereto, ˰ with all the immorality, of the people. ¦

Not to the realm of light manner, tis from non·attachment, not also from fear, ˰ not certainly, upon the advantage, from a moment in time. |

By patience firmly fixed, also, is the entire community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Patience, with wisdom everywhere grasping, also again, ˰ in the World, is the imperishable established. || 16.38 ||


Kārikā Navatriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (4)

Diligence, by those of buddhas brought forth, is the doing unequalled, ˰ for a complete binding of the joined together nature thereof. ¦

To smite, impurity's multitude, from one's nature, thereto, from on high, ˰ tis to attain, also, an awakened consciousness of highest beatitude. |

By diligence, just so, also by that, is the entire community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Diligence, with wisdom everywhere grasping, also again, ˰ in the World, is the imperishable established. || 16.39 ||


Kārikā Catvāriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (5)

Contemplation, by those Buddhas brought forth, tis to full absorption most often, ˰ established, every manner. ¦

With these auspicious contemplations unto tranquility, having taken up with compassion, ˰ tis abandoned the going back a clinging to. |

By contemplation, just so, also by that, is the entire community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Contemplation, with wisdom everywhere grasping, also again, ˰ in the World, is the imperishable established. || 16.40 ||


Kārikā Ekacatvāriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (6)

To be known, by those buddhas brought forth, tis a suchness most complete; ˰ shall be known also, whatever's, in every manner. ¦

Clinging, is not like that also, — for both are without moving the manifested — ˰ with these awakened ones, from whom, are both concealed. |

By wisdom, just so, also by that, is the entire community, ˰ in the awakened consciousness triad, deeply rooted. ¦

Wisdom, with true comprehending, also again, ˰ in the World, is the imperishable established. || 16.41 ||



Kārikā Dvācatvāriṃśā

Upon Attribute Division (7)

Of these magnanimity's, tis the desirability, and, ¦

the great path most imperishable, thereto, also; |

for a generosity most cheerful, so united, to him, indeed, ¦

shall be known, the attribute four fold. || 16.42 ||

To the revelation accomplishing contentment, ¦¦

— which also not, those who, to discontent thereto, are for complete praise — |

prevails he, unto it, the one who gives, ¦¦

the compassionate, with abundance joined together. || 16.43 ||

Upon Attribute Division (9)

To these living beings, to these sensualities, to these honourable consorts, ¦¦

upon these creatures, from giving an embodied one's compassion, |

he greatly rejoices, unto pleasure. ¦¦

Thus so, to abstension, one shalt cause to defend, herein, how pray tell. || 16.44 ||

Indifferent, even minded, ¦¦

for those without fear, the entire giving out, is a compassion, from impulse. |

Falsely, for council, ought one speak, ¦¦

— for harm to another, pray tell — a pious buddhist! || 16.45 ||

Upon Attribute Division (11)

The pure and holy person's passion, tis merciful, ¦¦

upon another's sorrow arising, unto the very frightful ones also, |

in true modesty, from good argument, ¦¦

in being well distant, from the triple fold speech malady. || 16.46 ||

Everything giving out, being compassionate, ¦¦

having gone contrarily, in the dharma uplifting, tis very much proper also. |

Ought cause one to accept, pray tell, that!, ¦¦

— the entire vast action —, tis a mind, for painful affliction. || 16.47 ||

The beneficial deed, unto full joyfulness, ¦¦

— indeed, in suffering, for benevolent perception, to another friendly, always, in sorrow —, |

doth one grasp, when, merciful. ¦¦

Shall be patient, of that, for which not, ought one be, perhaps. || 16.48 ||

Other being an other the perception, from going away, ¦¦

from one's self, from compartively more, always, from another's affection, |

from the difficult task's performance, for both with compassion, ¦¦

A trifling delight, indeed, is the self's contented tranquility, ¦¦

a slow cessation, a generally detrimental decaying, unto lethargy. |

Contemplation, tis for an intention, of triads, ¦¦

from the going all about, of these bodhisattvas. || 16.50 ||

With thieves, in the darkness; which manner, ¦¦

with lanterns, tis for despatching; that manner, is the triple knowledge. |

With these day making beams of light, tis just so, indeed, ¦¦

Upon Transcendent Generosity, Two Ślokas

Whence, to the way, they desire, for possessions, these living ones. ¦

In this manner, just so, the insightful ones give away, unto these embodied beings. |

From the physical impulse, wealth, tis sought after, by these born ones. ¦

Thence, similarly, with those gifted of comprehension, by the hundreds, tis discarded. || 16.59 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṣṭitamā

Upon Transcendent Generosity (2)

The body, just so, from the giving up, tis not caused to suffer, ¦

which time, the spirit, the satisfied, tis in essence unencumbered, in what way. |

That, of this here, to the world on higher, goes; wherefore, most merrily, ¦

he, —by that, for that, of that—, then, is for the higher, again. || 16.60 ||


All Is By Generosity

Kārikā Ekaṣaṣṭā

All Is By Generosity, Two Ślokas

With these craven grasping ones, the cherished desire seizing, ¦

not to contentment, attains, that manner, a small method, thereto. |

Entirely existing with generosity, which manner, here, the one of wisdom, ¦

unto the contentment, proceeds, of the longing born one, by contentment. || 16.61 ||


Kārikā Dvāṣaṣṭā

All Is By Generosity (2)

Excessive wealth, tis not, that manner, for the one of substance possessed; ¦

for self, keeps in view the mendicant, thereto. |

Entirely existing, from generosity, destitute of wealth, therefore, the one of wisdom, ¦

for self, doth follow after, such manner, the one possessed of wealth. || 16.62 ||


Compassion, From Remaining Essence, a Method

Kārikā Trayaḥṣaṣṭā

Compassion, From Remaining Essence, a Method, Two Ślokas

For the well respectable virtuous man, likewise, tis wealth, ˰ having obtained not, in this way, for advantage. ¦

Made to ponder, tis that manner, the mendicant, ˰ from the giving, of a grasping's motive. |

In the right manner, here, with auspicious offerings, ˰ these mendicants, having cause to be pleased, ¦

for the best, for the beneficial deed's perception, ˰ in these, (is) the one of wisdom, such manner, just so. || 16.63 ||


Kārikā Catuḥṣaṣṭā

Compassion, From Remaining Essence, a Method (2)

For the self, the departed afflictions, ˰ of a living being, tis a self standing appearance. ¦

For the respectable great man, therefore, having so grasped, ˰ doth govern he, of whom, tis the wealth. |

On the path, from the highest fruition richly endowed, ˰ from wealth's tree, which‐such manner, tis just so. ¦

The dispersion, the excessive glutton, ˰ from the Bodhisattva, not that is dissimilar. || 16.64 ||


Upon Diligence The Division

Kārikā Pañcaṣaṣṭā

Upon Diligence The Division, Seven Ślokas

From the principle nature, that, (tis) the motive and deed's division, ¦

from the manner of the separation's fundamental basis of differance, also, |

from the four fetters of the adversity's distinction, ¦

tis diligence, shall be comprehensible, just so, for the pointing out. || 16.65 ||


Kārikā Ṣaṭṣaṣṭā

Upon Diligence The Division (2)

For diligence on highest, of resplendent pure action, in the middle, ¦

therefore, supporting, of that, from whence, is the subsequent attainment. |

By diligence, at once, is the well pleasant roaming about, ¦

—world on higher, world fallen into— also an empowerment. || 16.66 ||


Kārikā Saptaṣaṣṭā

Upon Diligence The Division (3)

From diligence, 'twas for obtaining cyclic existence sensuality, was desired; ¦

by diligence, to a purity most powerful, are they endowed. |

By diligence, to the true form, having gone beyond, are these liberated ones. ¦

By diligence, to awakened consciousness on highest, are these awakened ones. || 16.67 ||


Kārikā Aṣṭāṣaṣṭā

Again, for thought, tis the laying aside to increase diligence, ¦

for the liberation's master, for the proposition's counter argument, besides. |

In suchness, tis entered into, for the turning round, also. ¦

Diligence, tis the great pathway, and the resolution, moreover. || 16.68 ||

Upon Diligence The Division (5)

A fully armoured diligence, for first principle, therefrom, also, ¦

the preparation of diligence, having the right manner, are forthright encouraged. |

For not sticking to it, for being rigidly unshakable, tis a discontent's diligence. ¦

To the entire effort, they speak out, these awakened ones. || 16.69 ||


Kārikā Saptatitamā

Upon Diligence The Division (6)

A dragged down to middling and an on highest diligence, moreover, ¦

in the vehicle triadic, by an ascetic·born fundamental nature, |

unites, from the most lofty lasting impression of discerning intellect enjoined. ¦

Diligence, thus so, for a triffling way and a great way, is desired. || 16.70 ||

Not having diligence, an enjoyment diminished, exists. ¦

The Buddhist, having diligence, the affliction diminished, exists. |

Not having diligence, an exhaustion diminished, exists. ¦

the divided, the virtuous intent, from the characteristic also; |

For generosity, for equanimity, for loving kindness declaring, ¦

the way of spiritual practice, tis a similarity of purpose. |

Therefore, the teaching, having similarly taken up, ¦

with these self activated companions, tis sought after. || 16.73 ||


Kārikā Catuḥsaptatā

Upon Fully Grasping The Essence Divisions (2)

The expedient means, the beneficial action, ¦

the one who grasps is, how else, the benefactor. |

That manner, tis the following, shall be perceived, ¦

from the four fully grasping reality. || 16.74 ||


Kārikā Pañcasaptatā

With the beginning, the vessel of one's portion, tis existence. ¦

With the second, tis one's dedicated intent. |

Practice, is with the third. ¦

With the forth, tis one's purification. || 16.75 ||

The four, for fully grasping steadfast realness, ¦

from fully grasping duality, tis thought, |

with desire, and with the dharma, ¦

with the dharma, from the foundation, moreover. || 16.76 ||

Very small or middling or on highest, the largest portion, ¦

ought be bound, ought be unbound also; the fully grasping, |

shall be unfettered, every manner, also like that; ¦

shall be understood, verily, tis the appearance divided. || 16.77 ||

With social gatherings dragging on so enjoined to, ¦

the way of it, tis this, standing upon: |

“In every way of empowerment, ˰ for every desire, ¦

contentment's means, tis also, harmed.” || 16.78 ||

The gathered together, they shall be taken in, ¦

firmly accepted, also, they who are here present, |

in every way, it is thus so; ˰ from that also, ¦

is the wheel track, that is, in the sentient being maturing. || 16.79 ||
