Kārikā Prathamā
Humility, dissimilar casting aside, ¦¦
tis by wisdom gone to; also, by unvibrating still mind. |
For those forsaken ones, with a blame most venomous, ¦¦
of those living beings, tis the maturing, in insightful comprehension. || 18.1 ||
Kārikā Dvitīyā
For the thicket, of complete perfections, ¦¦
from upon enjoying slothful idleness, exists the shame. |
From the affliction favourable dharma's ¦¦
consequence, tis also like that, of these insightful ones. || 18.2 ||
Kārikā Tṛtīyā
These ill composed self natures, ¦¦
these gentleness middling, those forsaken plateaus, tis the shame! |
Those forsaken fundamental āśaya minds, are similar. ¦¦
These forsaken, verily, that are, another manner, in sooth, superior. || 18.3 ||
Kārikā Caturthā
Shame forsaken, is the one of wisdom; ¦¦
unto these impurities, bringing honour; moving about, shining in the night. |
Aversion overlooking, tis the fetter of opinion, ¦¦
for living beings, doth he strike upon, for virtue also. || 18.4 ||
Kārikā Pañcamā
From the making of regret, with a wounding, ¦¦
doth one exist; a full respect's loss, one obtains, |
from the confidence, from the human community. ¦¦
The teacher, also, is glanced upon, from that. || 18.5 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṣṭhā
Together with these virtuous, with these victor brought forth, ¦¦
reproached, from the people; the dishonoured one grasps hold, |
upon perceiving the dharma; otherwise, ¦¦
the moment of forsaking, he manifests, once more. || 18.6 ||
Kārikā Saptamā
The firmly grasping and firmly ungrasping (to) ever more cessation; ¦¦
with these pure actions, with these dharmas, one fully grasps, by that. |
The suffering lives, from that. ¦¦
From the mind, therefore, to lack of well being, one goes. || 18.7 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭamā
Desires!, in everyone tis the defilement, ¦¦
in these ashamed ones, they exist, a fetter, in these victor brought forth. |
Amongst the devas, and amongst the people born also, ¦¦
constantly, fully manifests, also, the one of wisdom. || 18.8 ||
Kārikā Navamā
For preparation, also, (is) he, from awakened intellect; ¦¦
swiftly, is caused to fill, with shame, the one of wisdom. |
Of these living beings, with maturation, ¦¦
is not oppressed, also, in this way, the victor's child. || 18.9 ||
Kārikā Daśamā
He, with these contrarian adversaries, ¦¦
the forsaken, the unforsaken also, doth appear, incessantly. |
Just so, for this, to well praised merit, ¦¦
the regretful one, grasps onto, the victor's child. || 18.10 ||
Kārikā Ekādaśā
A malady most impure, assuredly, is the child. ¦¦
The shame, tis from desertion, by those well abiding, the well protected, thereto. |
Without mental seed, more over, is the victor brought forth. ¦¦
Remorse, the mental seed, is released the malady's impurity. || 18.11 ||
Kārikā Dvādaśā
To the formless realm of light, like that, is not the anointed. ¦¦
Remorse absorbed, the victor begotten exists, with these dharmas. |
Remorse adorned, also splendidly adornes ¦¦
the mingled together so going, of these victor brought forth. || 18.12 ||
Kārikā Trayodaśā
From the mother, indeed, is the benevolence, ¦¦
of shame, upon the disciples, of these bodhisattvas. |
The great protection, and also, the shame, ¦¦
are for cyclic existence, from all faults. || 18.13 ||
Kārikā Caturdaśā
In every one, not tis perseverance. ¦¦
In every one, the enduring mental impression, tis indolence also. |
In every one, also tis the progress. ¦¦
To regret without benefit, tis the remorse regarded, for a sign. || 18.14 ||
Kārikā Pañcadaśā
Remorse for meditation, the principal, tis ¦¦
from self reflection, from the dharma, from beyond liberation also, |
from the karmic seed, therefore from awakened buddha nature, ¦¦
from non·conceptual awareness, from the oneness also, thereto. || 18.15 ||
Upon Steadfast Firmness A Division
Kārikā Ṣoḍaśā
Steadfast firmness, tis also of these bodhisattvas, ¦
by a characteristic, from the separation. |
By perseverance, also, tis for everyone; ¦
therefore, from these inexhaustabilities, tis to be distinguished. || 18.16 ||
Kārikā Saptadaśā
For the virtuous one, tis exalted meditation, ˰ insightful wisdom also. ¦
For the sentient one, tis a steadfast boldness, a firmness, intelligence. |
The fearless bodhisattva is, verily, ¦
from the triad, from which, he goes forward. || 18.17 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭādaśā
From disheartedness, and from agitated indecisiveness also, ¦
from lethargic confusion, and manifested, for distress; |
upon actions, from that, ˰ shall be increased wisdom; ¦
the steadfast all knowing, tis in a constant triad. || 18.18 ||
Kārikā Navadaśā
With irreducible first principle, in contemplation also, ¦
dispassion! ; like that, also, |
in a sentient being's confusion, and, ¦
in a majestic generosity's promise. || 18.19 ||
Kārikā Viṃśā
In the disciple ̇s poor preparation, ¦
the linage, in being incomprehensible, tis of the victor also. |
In these difficult deeds, in these most colorful, ¦
the endless sensory existence not forsaking, tis in this way, also. || 18.20 ||
Kārikā Ekaviṃśā
In being without complete defilement, also therein, in this way, ¦
a firmness, of wisdom, doth manifest. |
Unusual also, tis that, for those others. ¦
He, in being formost, for being 'resolute', is supporting. || 18.21 ||
Kārikā Dvāviṃśā
From a deceitful friend suffering, from a deep vocal tone ¦
hearing, the virtuous man doth not tremble, |
with these locusts, with wings blowing a wind also, ¦
with these oceans also, holding the Sumeru. || 18.22 ||
Upon Exuberance A Division
Kārikā Trayoviṃśā
The exurberance, of bodhisattva ̇s, ¦
tis incomparable, in these three matters: |
in learning great contentment, in great vigour, ¦
in suffering. Tis the remorse steadfastness depending. || 18.23 ||
Kārikā Caturviṃśā
The sharpness of zeal, in a great awakened consciousness, ¦
the exuberance, of these wise ones, tis honoured. |
The unrealized and the realized, ¦
the well realized also, are in stages. || 18.24 ||
Sacred Book Knowledge Going
Kārikā Pañcaviṃśā
With reality, and with highest competence, ¦
by action, also, tis distinguished; |
by nature, by imperishability, ¦
of fruition, tis with the higher sacred knowledge also. || 18.25 ||
Kārikā Ṣaḍviṃśā
The sacred book knowledge, assuredly, of these insightful ones, ¦
tis absorption in the meditation's principal invocation. |
The grasping, twas for a true maturity, ¦
of those real dharmas also, in mindfulness. || 18.26 ||
For World Knowledge Going
Kārikā Saptaviṃśā
By body, by speech, and just so, ¦
by true knowledge also, uncomparable, |
is the world knowledge, assuredly, of these insightful ones; ¦
thus so, from those inexhaustabilities, tis distinguished. || 18.27 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭāviṃśā
In what way, with the body, just so, twas said :
Making a smiling face, always, ¦
In what way, the speech, just so, twas said :
are these insightful ones, before speaking. |
What, for method, just so, twas said :
Of living sentient beings, tis for merit, ¦
In which way, for making merit, just so, twas said :
for a true dharma practice. || 18.28 ||
Kārikā Navaviṃśā
In what way, with true knowledge, just so, twas said :
From true duality, is restrained the motion, ¦
of these worlds, rising up, repeatedly. |
From duality, for being cast aside, is the rutted path, from that; ¦
thus so, sacred wisdom, is the world's wisdom, tis said. || 18.29 ||
Kārikā Triṃśā
For equanimity, for perfection, of those, ¦
the sage of wisdom, upon those truths, is bound. |
From true knowing, is the well governed one of wisdom; ¦
the world's sacred wisdom, verily, tis explained. || 18.30 ||
Upon Reliance A Division
Kārikā Ekatriṃśā
Archaic, also teaching irreverent discordant actions, ¦
the method, the intentional reinterpretation, tis of that, also. |
The authoritative and guided method, ¦
concise exact speech attaining, tis of that, also. || 18.31 ||
Kārikā Dvātriṃśā
Refutation, ‐which manner of saying, ¦
contrarily‐, tis of a calculated decision, and |
of being with intent also; of obtaining, ¦
the counter refutation, herein, is the teaching. || 18.32 ||
Kārikā Trayastriṃśā
From strong resolve, from deliberation also, ¦
truly, from beyond hearing, |
from the inexpressable, thereto also, from wisdom, ¦
tis not perishing, verily, of these sages. || 18.33 ||
Upon The Pratisaṃvid A Division
Kārikā Catustriṃśā
Tis matchless, of these bodhisattvas, ¦
these four steps of infallible analytical knowledge: |
in the cycling around, in the attribute, in the utterance, ¦
in the knowledge; from knowing also, they are perceptions. || 18.34 ||
Kārikā Pañcatriṃśā
Upon explaining this manner, of being represented, ¦
of which, ‐by which also‐, is the insightful revealation. |
Of two dharma pathways, in two ways, is the revered word; ¦
by knowledge, just so, also, is the insight. || 18.35 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṭtriṃśā
Of the dharma, from the explanation pointing out, ¦
every manner, from appearance, tis in two ways: |
from experience, and of considerations. ¦
Infallible analytical knowledge, tis four fold. || 18.36 ||
Kārikā Saptatriṃśā
To every self, is sameness, having arrived at; ¦
that which, further on, tis the heightened awareness. |
For every doubt's cessation, ¦
the infallible analytical knowledge tis explained. || 18.37 ||
Upon Sensory Existence A Division
Kārikā Aṣṭātriṃśā
The gathered four virtues, of these bodhisattvas, ¦
‐an auspicious wisdom‐, the going is matchless. |
In mundane sensory existence, for upon·arising, is the one, ¦
the other, both are fully non·afflicted going. || 18.38 ||
Kārikā Navatriṃśā
Generosity, moral precept, and of purity, ¦
the insight, of knowledge, is fully bearing, |
the three; and moreover, tis of duality, also, ¦
the five, thereto, knowledges fully bearing. || 18.39 ||
Kārikā Catvāriṃśā
By the causal connection, for contemplation, having come to; ¦
becoming the becoming, tis of virtue, indeed. |
The sharing together, ‐one whom (does) that‐, tis the full preparation. ¦
In the virtuous one, tis the complete path of a skillful yogin. || 18.40 ||
Kārikā Ekacatvāriṃśā
For the first entrance, for the signless state, ¦
for the absence of sensuality, is the full preparation, |
for the consecration, for the steady state, ¦
of insightful comprehensions, so gathered together. || 18.41 ||
Upon The Mindfulness Abode A Division
Kārikā Dvācatvāriṃśā
With these fourteen, with these vigorous actions, ¦
the mindfulness abode contemplation, |
is for wisdom, from discordance; it, ¦
thus so, from those others, is to be distinguished. || 18.42 ||
Kārikā Trayaścatvāriṃśā
From refuge, from adversity, and ¦
from the one who decends, that manner, like that, and |
from the object of an observation's mental construct ¦
attaining to also, tis to be distinguished. || 18.43 ||
Kārikā Catuścatvāriṃśā
From having two favourable qualities being compatible with an action, ¦
general knowledge, is from manifesting the World. |
By a small measure, with supreme excellence, ¦
the realization, tis from complete attainment. || 18.44 ||
Upon Fully Bound Mental Cessation A Division
Kārikā Pañcacatvāriṃśā
Complete mental cessation, tis of comprehensions, ¦
uncomparable, with all living beings. |
Of these mindfulness realm deficiencies, ¦
tis by an obstacle's adversity, manifested. || 18.45 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṭcatvāriṃśā
Of mundane existence, upon the enjoyment, also ¦
in the renouncing, of the obstacle, and |
of the mental construct, also in the forsaking, ¦
in the first entrance also, like that, tis in stages. || 18.46 ||
Kārikā Saptacatvāriṃśā
In an unconditioned signless state roaming about, ‐and ¦
in the both obtaining, of the explaining also‐, |
of these sentient beings, in ripening maturation, and ¦
upon the consecration, also, of Bodhisattvas, || 18.47 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭācatvāriṃśā
of the field of action also, is the path of virtue, ¦
a steady state, going in this way; and, |
being created, of these Bodhisattva ̇s, ¦
from a contrarian opposition. || 18.48 ||
Kārikā Navacatvāriṃśā
An intention, having having gone to, of yoga practice; ¦
the meditative state is with occasional effect. |
In complete collected together mental cessations, ¦
the teaching from opposition is explained. || 18.49 ||
Upon Psychic Accomplisment A Division
Kārikā Pañcāśā
These psychic accomlishment steps, also the four, ¦
of insightful comprehensions, these prominent markings, |
in every art of attainment, ˰ they appear, ¦
from these soulful personas, and of the universal soul also. || 18.50 ||
Kārikā Ekapañcāśā
From within refuge, and from separation also, ¦
from an expedient means, of obtaining, |
the calm abiding, of these perfection stages, ¦
of these wisdom sages, every manner, tis sought after. || 18.51 ||
Kārikā Dvāpañcāśā
For contemplation's highest state, having been illumined, ¦
the division, assuredly, tis four fold. |
Expedient means, and the attainment, ¦
tis six fold also, all encompassed. || 18.52 ||
Kārikā Trayaḥpañcāśā
A little exertion, tis one, and ¦
secondly, an empathy by nature, |
being unencumbered the third, and ¦
fourthly, the obstacle. || 18.53 ||
Kārikā Catuḥpañcāśā
Of appearance, of precept, ¦
of virtue a playful mastery, also, |
of observing the masterful discipline, going along, and ¦
of the dharma reaching also, tis the removing of impurity. || 18.54 ||
Upon The Spiritual Faculty A Division
Kārikā Pañcapañcāśā
The awakened consciousness, the spiritual practice, the teaching, also therein, ¦
the tranquility, moreover, the insightful observation, |
the reverence, of these foremostly, tis for a foundation, shall be known, ¦
from the art of perfection ̇s foremost supremacy. || 18.55 ||
Upon Spiritual Strength A Division
Kārikā Ṣaṭpañcāśā
These bhūmi stages of first entrance with total impurities, ¦
these physical exertions, tis reverence foremostly, again. |
With a contrarian weakness, ¦
is he; just so, (are) these strengths made fully known. || 18.56 ||
Upon The Awakened Consciousness Aspect A Division
Kārikā Saptapañcāśā
Of the bhūmi stage entering, the awakened consciousness aspect ̇s ¦
foundation, tis all encompassed. |
Of these dharmas, of all sentient beings, ¦
the equanimity, tis from comprehension, once again. || 18.57 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭāpañcāśā
Attentiveness wanders, everywhere, ¦
shall be known, in the unsubdued victory, |
of those 'fully of vibration' characteristics. ¦
For the constant universal flux, the examination, tis of that also. || 18.58 ||
Kārikā Navapañcāśā
Quickly also, for unending wisdom, ¦
the persistence, of that, churns onward. |
By the dharma splendour ̇s increase, and ¦
in rapture, tis fulfilled, for a way of life. || 18.59 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṣṭitamā
From every great obstruction ̇s non·transcendence, ¦
with confidence, the contented tranquility goes also. |
The cognitive skillful means complete perfection, also ¦
from the samādhi meditation, doth so originate. || 18.60 ||
Kārikā Ekaṣaṣṭā
By an equanimity, wherefore, unto desire, ¦
everywhere, abides that. |
The spontaneous karmic wisdom, by a mental construct, ¦
with roaming about, then, tis the very highest. || 18.61 ||
Kārikā Dvāṣaṣṭā
Thus the guṇa essence, ˰ a bodhisattva, ¦
a cakra turning yogi, just so, doth churn onward. |
With the seven jewels uppermost, constantly, ¦
with these awakened consciousness aspects, tis all encompassed. || 18.62 ||
Kārikā Trayaḥṣaṣṭā
The refuge aspect, the self nature aspect, ¦
the transcendence aspect thirdly, |
fourthly, the merit aspect, ¦
the non·affliction aspect, (are) three fold by nature. || 18.63 ||
Upon The Path Aspect A Division
Kārikā Catuḥṣaṣṭā
Which manner, the perception ̇s continuity, and, ¦
therefore, for the rising upwards, tis obtained. |
Which manner, the perception ̇s foundation, ¦
the first entrance, also, tis in a fundamental state. || 18.64 ||
Kārikā Pañcaṣaṣṭā
The karma triad's increasing virtue, also ¦
of adversity, tis the mental upliftment, |
shall be known, from the turns of life, and of the path, ¦
of the Vaiśeṣika ̇s attribute characteristic also. || 18.65 ||
Equanimity Insightful Observation, Upon A Division
Kārikā Ṣaṭṣaṣṭā
Of cognition, in cognition, ˰ from firm foundation also, ¦
from the dharma ̇s examination, thereto, |
unto the joined together state, having relied upon, ¦
the equanimity, certainly, (tis) an insightful observation. || 18.66 ||
Kārikā Saptaṣaṣṭā
All pervading, and with one portion, ¦
not for one portion of an upaniṣad, is the consciousness. |
In insight, and in transcendence, ¦
in a signless state, certainly, tis in 'lacking a quality'. || 18.67 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭāṣaṣṭā
In an all around purification, in increasing virtue also, ¦
is the equanimity, moreover, is the insightful observation. |
Every bhūmi stage going, in skillful firm wisdom, ¦
is he, with a sacred yoga practice, the fully accomplished yogin. || 18.68 ||
Upon The Expedient Means Skillfulness A Division
Kārikā Navaṣaṣṭā
In being perfected, of these buddha dharmas, ¦
of these truths, in maturation, |
in a rapid attaining to, the means, tis in purity, ¦
in the wheel track's continuity also, for well being. || 18.69 ||
Kārikā Saptatitamā
On the path, of these bodhisattvas, ¦
is purity unequaled, in all bhūmi plateaus. |
Whence, for well being, having fully depended upon, ¦
for all means, brought to success are they. || 18.70 ||
Invocation, Upon The Division
Kārikā Ekasaptatā
With maturing, from a learning's diligent effort, ¦
tis the dhāraṇī ̇s invocation, likewise, by the samādhi's absorption. |
Encompassing a dual sacred knowledge, tis she; and ¦
those two types of knowledge, tis three fold, again. || 18.71 ||
Kārikā Dvāsaptatā
Of those unentered ones entering into, ¦
for wisdom, tis gentleness middlemost. |
Of these unpurified steps, verily, ¦
are those two forms of knowledge, the purifying ground. || 18.72 ||
Kārikā Trayaḥsaptatā
The dhāraṇī invocation, for way of going, having depended on, ¦
these bodhisattvās, again, again, |
they are caused to shine forth, for the true dharma. ¦
Constantly, they cause dharma to fully manifest, also. | 18.73 ||
Upon Aspiration A Division
Kārikā Catuḥsaptatā
Consciousness, firm resolve enjoined, ¦
with wisdom, turned atrembling to, tis also that. |
The aspiration, verily, of these insightful ones, ¦
tis incomparable, in all stages. || 18.74 ||
Kārikā Pañcasaptatā
For the cause existing, also, it shall be dependent on consciousness, ¦
from thought, at once, the fruition, tis also that. |
In expanding, the way of an accomplishment's siddhi path, ¦
tis from the thought's causal matrix, from complete psychic perfection. || 18.75 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṭsaptatā
For resplendence, tis the sacred knowledge, for increasing purity also, ¦
in these higher upon higher bhūmi plateaus. |
From the most perfect knowledge, of these bodhisattvas, ¦
(is) the self and other path of purifying. || 18.76 ||
Upon The Three Samādhi's A Division
Kārikā Saptasaptatā
For selflessness, unto a dual homage, shall be known; ¦
truly, tis of self grasping, and the ground of being. |
Of that also, the cessation, tis always, ¦
an exalted samādhi state in three ways meandering. || 18.77 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭāsaptatā
The samādhi state, tis a triple sacrifice, shall be known: ¦
the grasped and grasper existing; |
the still mind state, thereto, abstaining; ¦
the eros engaging, also, evermore. || 18.78 ||
Kārikā Navasaptatā
For general knowledge, for a fault's mental cessation, ¦
again, directly, by kriyā cleansing also, |
the śūnyatā voidness, tis of foremost meditations. ¦
Three ways, the means, tis proclaimed. || 18.79 ||
Upon Dharma Binding Together The Tetralemma A Division
Kārikā Aśītitamā
With the samādhi meditation's direct revelation, ¦
dharma binding together the tetralemma, |
tis for the teaching, from these bodhisattvas, ¦
of these truths, by encouraging a striving after. || 18.80 ||
Kārikā Ekāśītamā
The untrue way, the without thought way, ¦
the mirage way, just so, also, |
the mental construct's cessation way, and ¦
of these sages, that, is the tetralemma. || 18.81 ||
From This, For That Disciplined Practice Way, In Momentariness A Division
Kārikā Dvyaśītā
From separation, from the existence of a cause manifesting, ¦
from adversity, from self, from being unsteady, |
from non·existence, from the mark of being alone and inferior, ¦
from conformity, from cessation of suffering, || 18.82 ||
Kārikā Tryaśītā
From the transformation of perception also, ¦
that, tis from causality's fruition, |
from the near to suchness foremost supremacy, and ¦
from a purified true flowing continuity. || 18.83 ||
Of These Soulful Selves, Again, The Disciplined Practice Way
Kārikā Caturaśītā
Foremost, with crossing over the delusion, thereto, ¦
by grouping together, is the ground of being existing, |
for these ever changing fruits of action; ¦
that manner, tis from having forsaken the distinguishing mark. || 18.84 ||
Kārikā Pañcāśītā
By radiant complete effulgence, ¦
by the domain of essence path, and |
with the seed's or without the seed's existence, ¦
by reflection, you have been made to move quickly. || 18.85 ||
Kārikā Ṣaḍaśītā
Among the fourteen growing virtues arising, ¦
having a cause, tis from being without attribute; |
for accumulating, from a method, from being unyogic also, ¦
tis from the fundament a discordant existence. || 18.86 ||
Kārikā Saptāśītā
Of standing still, from a discordant existence, in the end, ¦
tis from a foremost cessation unmoving; |
that manner, in the forsaken quintessence, ¦
in shining and unshining, tis thereto, also. || 18.87 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭāśītā
From going to non·existence, the standing firm, tis from yoga practice, ¦
from the finality of the discordant existence, |
of flowing along by twists and turns, and of thought, ¦
for a little moment of time, for the entirety of the beginning, middle, and end. || 18.88 ||
Of The External, In This Moment, Momentariness Is Made To Succeed
Kārikā Navāṣṭāśītā
Of these living creatures, of the six fold way, ¦
the momentariness, is ungrasped. |
Of withering growth, by original nature also, ¦
from agitated indecisiveness, is the increase diminished. || 18.89 ||
Kārikā Navatitamā
Thence, tis from the entire existence, from the earth, and ¦
from the transformation consisting of four, |
from color smell taste touch ¦
equivalence, also, in like manner, just so, therefore. || 18.90 ||
Kārikā Ekanavatā
From inflaming the conditions of existence, ¦
from a higher·highest gradation ̇s perception, |
from the thought ̇s flowing continuance, ˰ from the enquiry, ¦
for a little moment of time, for the external, moreover, tis from this. || 18.91 ||
For A Pudgala's Selflessness Fundamental Practice Method, Upon Egolessness A Division
Kārikā Dvānavatā
With the metaphor ̇s existence, tis prattling! ¦
The pudgala, tis from a substance, not indeed; |
nor, from perceiving, from errorful delusion, ¦
from complete affliction, from defiled cause. || 18.92 ||
Kārikā Trayonavatā
From oneness and otherness, (tis) blabbering! ¦
From that, tis from a defiling duality, that; |
from the elements of an essentialness a logical absurdity also, ¦
that, tis from the substantiality ̇s conceptual fault. || 18.93 ||
Kārikā Caturnavatā
The material thing's give and take, if tis unspoken, also ¦
shall be ill spoken, the cause. |
Having oneness, from otherness, tis unspeakable. ¦
Not uniting together, tis without purpose. || 18.94 ||
Kārikā Pañcanavatā
From the attribute the world perceiving, also ¦
from the body of teaching thereto, tis not enjoined. |
Of these two enflaming fires, is an inexpressability, ¦
from perception, by duality, assuredly. || 18.95 ||
Kārikā Ṣaṇṇavatā
In duality, from mindfulness and consciousness ¦
existing together, the mental causality is not that. |
From being without purpose, from this!, the beholder, ¦
as well as the liberator, are not enjoined. || 18.96 ||
Kārikā Saptanavatā
In self perfection, for mindfulness and being impermanent, ¦
the disadvantage, not ought be brought to churn onward. |
That!, for the karma's mark, for perfection, ¦
tis a fully awakened consciousness resisted, triple fold. || 18.97 ||
Kārikā Aṣṭānavatā
In an appearance foremostly, and therefore, tis the aspiration, ¦
being self existent, not from the triad, thereto. |
That!, tis for the aspiration's causality; and ¦
for non·aspiration, tis for the appearance's commencement. || 18.98 ||
Kārikā Navanavatā
From a lack of creativity, from impermanence, ¦
immediatly, like that, from an abstaining of action. |
In these appearances primarily, of the aspiration, ¦
a self existence, tis not enjoined. || 18.99 ||
Kārikā Śatatamā
In that manner, of standing firm, of cessation, ¦
from before non·existence, from the impermanent, |
from the third proposition ˰ non·existence also, ¦
a causality, (tis) not enjoined. || 18.100 ||
Kārikā Ekaśatā
In every thing, the dharmā being, these selfless ones, ¦
by the highest path, is śūnyatā. |
In self grasping, ˰ tis the fault; and ¦
the teaching, t'was restrained, in this way, also. || 18.101 ||
Kārikā Dviśatā
In complete defilement, in purification also, ¦
from a lower condition, within a separation most broken, |
a meandering continuity's division, verily, ¦
by the pudgala, tis perceived. || 18.102 ||
Kārikā Triśatā
The soul beholding, eternal, ¦
tis a diligent effort, without a beginning belonging to time. |
Tis a lack of aspiration for the liberation, – of all this. ¦
Tis not liberation, the pudgala is, otherwise. || 18.103 ||
Kārikā Catuḥśatā
Thus, with these, with these attributes, constantly, ¦
the bodhisattvas, are these fully understanding. |
For a soul ̇s skillful means, also, not they leave behind. ¦
For the supreme being ̇s way, they are brought to success, also. || 18.104 ||
