Āścarya Vibhāge

Kārikā Prathamā

Of (one's) sva̩deha̍, the pari̩tyāga̍ ̇ng, ¦

(tis) from sa̩mpatti̍, a̩nd, thus so̍, in sa̩ṃvṛtti̍ ̇ng. |

In these du̩rbala̍ ̇s, upon the e̩arth, in a kāya̍, ¦

upon the jīvi̩ta̍, (tis) from ni̩rape̍kṣi̩n ̇ng. || 19.1 ||

Kārikā Dvitīyā

The vīrya̩ ā̩rambha̍, assuredly, anā̩svāda̍, ¦

in these dhyā̩na̍ ̇s, (tis) su̩kha̍, ce̩rtainly, a̍nd |

ni̩ṣkalpa̍nā also, ˰ in pra̩jñā̍; ¦

(tis) mo̩st wo̍ndrous, of these dhī̩mat ̇s, for gata̍ ̇ng. || 19.2 ||

Kārikā Tṛtīyā

In the tathā̍gata̩ kula̍, the janma̩ ¦

lābha̍ ̇ng, (tis) of vyā̩kara̍ṇa̩, a̍lso |

of abhi̩ṣeka̍; and the prā̩pti̍ ̇ng, ¦

of bo̩dhi̍ (tis) also̩, wo̍nderfully, i̩ṣya̍te ̇d. || 19.3 ||

Anāścarya Vibhāge

Kārikā Caturthā

For va̩irāgya̍, for karu̩ṇā̍, for ca̩itya̍ ¦

bhāva̩nā̍, for the para̩mā̍'st, there̩fo̍re; |

that manne̩r, thus so̩, (tis) for sa̍ma̩citta̍tva. ¦

No̩t a̩stoni̍shingly, i̩n tho̍se, (is) the yukta̩tā̍. || 19.4 ||

Samacittatāyām

Kārikā Pañcamā

No̍t, that ma̩nner, in the ā̩tma̍n, in those dā̩ra̍ ̇s, ¦

in those suta̩ ̇d mitra̍ ̇s, in those bandhu̍ ̇s; |

of those sa̩ttva̍ ̇s, pra̩gata̍ ̇d (was) sne̩ha̍; ¦

whereo̩f, in these sattva̍ ̇s, (tis) for dhī̩matā̍. || 19.5 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṣṭā

(An) arthi̩ ̇ng ṣva̍pakṣa̩ ̇d pāta̍, also̩, ¦

of śīla̍, the a̩khaṇḍa̍nā ̇d, (are) for dhru̩va̍. |

Kṣānti̍, by a̩ll mea̍ns, (tis a) satva̩ a̩rtha̍, ¦

(a) vīrya̩ ā̩rambha̍, (a) ma̩hā̍n, also̩. || 19.6 ||

Kārikā Saptamā

For dhyā̍na, a̩nd for kuśa̍la, co̩nsta̍ntly, ¦

pra̩jñā̍, also̩ li̩ke tha̍t, (tis an) a̍vi̩kalpi̍kā. |

The vi̩jñe̍yā, of these bodhi̩sattva ̇s, ¦

in tho̩se, just so̍, (tis) sama̩citta̍tā. || 19.7 ||

Upakāritva Vibhāge

Kārikā Aṣṭamā

(A) sthāpa̩nā̍, in bhāja̩na̍tva, also̩ ¦

in these śīla̍ ̇s, ju̩st so̍, (tis) for ropa̩ṇa̍ ̇ng. |

Marṣa̍ṇā̩ also̍, of a̍pa̩kāra̍, ¦

upon the artha̍, (tis a) vyā̩pāra̍ of gāmi̩tā̍. || 19.8 ||

Kārikā Navamā

Ā̩varja̍nā, ˰ in śāsa̩na̍ ̇ng, in thi̩s, ¦

(is) the cheda̍nā̩ ̇ng, of saṃśa̍ya̩; a̍nd, |

in these sa̩ttva̍ ̇s, the upa̩kāri̍tva̩, ¦

of dhīma̍t ̇s, thi̩s, (is) iṣya̍te̩ ̇d. || 19.9 ||

Kārikā Daśamā

By the samā̩śa̍ya̩ ̇s, of these sattva̍ ̇s, ¦

(they are caused to) dhāra̍ya̩nti, a̍lwa̩ys; ju̩st so̍, they who̩ |

(are brought to) jana̍ya̩nti, upon (an) ā̍rya̩ bhūmi̍; a̩nd, ¦

with those kuśa̍la̩ ̇s, (they are made to) vardha̍ya̩nti also̍. || 19.10 ||

Kārikā Ekādaśamā

From du̩ṣkṛta̍, they pari̩rakṣa̍nti; ¦

for śru̩ta̍ ̇ng, they (are brought to) vyu̩tpāda̍ya̩nti a̍lso. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍n ̇s, these satva̩ ¦

mātṛ̍ ka̩lpa̍ ̇s, are the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā. || 19.11 ||

Kārikā Dvādaśā

From śraddhā̍, upon sarva̩ sattva̍ ̇s, ¦

eve̩ry ti̍me, (tis) also, from ava̩ropa̍ṇa ̇ng, |

upon the adhi̩śīla̍ ̇s a̍di̩śikṣā̍, ¦

upon vi̩mukti̍, and from ni̩yoja̍na ̇ng. || 19.12 ||

Kārikā Trayodaśā

From the buddha̩ a̩dhyeṣa̍ṇa ̇ng, a̩nd for thi̍s, ¦

(tis) of (an) ā̩vṛti̍ also, from the vi̩varja̍na̩ ̇ng. |

By these pañca̍, by those ka̩rma̍ ̇s, these sa̩tva̍ ¦

pitṛ̩ kalpa̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.13 ||

Kārikā Caturdaśā

For (an) a̩narha̍ deśa̩nā̍, tho̩se which, also̍ ¦

of these sa̩ttva̍ ̇s, (are) made gū̩ha̍ya̩nti, indee̍d. |

Those śikṣā̍ ̇s, for vi̩patti̍, ˰ (they do) ni̩nda̍̇nti. ¦

They do śa̩ṃsa̍nti, like tha͈t, a̍lso, for sa̩mpada̍. || 19.14 ||

Kārikā Pañcadaśā

For ava̩vāda̍, also̩ they yaccha̍nti̩. ¦

For these māra̍ ̇s, they are ā̩veda̍yanti̩ ̇d, assure̍dly. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍ ̇s, these satva̩ ¦

bandhu̩ kalpā̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.15 ||

Kārikā Ṣoḍaśā

In sa̩ṅkleśa̍, in vyava̩dāna̍ also̩, ¦

unto (a) se̍lf, these a̩śrānta̍ ̇d buddhi̩ ̇s |

yaccha̍nti̩, for the lauki̍kī̩, for the kṛtsnā̎, ¦

for sa̩mpada̍, and for ati̩lauki̍kī̩. || 19.16 ||

Kārikā Saptadaśā

In sukha̍, in (being) hita̍ ̇ed also̩, ˰ (tis) a̩bhinnā̍ ̇ng; those who̩, ¦

always, are of sukha̍ and hita̩ e̩ṣiṇa̍ ̇ng. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍n ̇s, these satva̩ ¦

mitra̍ ka̩lpā̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma jā̍. || 19.17 ||

Kārikā Aṣṭādaśā

Eve̩ry ti̍me, (tis) u̍dyama̩ vanta̍ ̇d; those who̩ (are), ¦

of these sattva̍ ̇s, in (a) pari̩pāca̍na. |

In the sa̩me wa̍y, the ni̩ryāṇa̍ va̩ktṛ̍, ¦

(is) kṣamā̍ ̇ng, in these vi̩prati̩patti̍ ̇s. || 19.18 ||

Kārikā Navadaśā

The dvaya̍ ̇s sa̩mpatti̍ dātā̩ra̍, ¦

tha͈t, (tis) in the upā̩yā̍, a̩nd the kovida̍ ̇s. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍n ̇s, these satva̩ ¦

dāsa̍ ka̩lpā̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.19 ||

Kārikā Viṃśā

Upon those anu̩tpatti̍ka̩ ̇d dharma̍ ̇s, ¦

for kṣā̩nti̍, (were) those prā̩pta̍ ̇d; also, those whi̩ch are matā̍ ̇s. |

The sarva̩ yāna̍^āā̍pada̩ i̩ṣṭāra̍, ¦

the siddha̩ ̇d yogā̍s, (are) these ni̩yoja̍ka ̇ng. || 19.20 ||

Kārikā Ekaviṃśā

These su̩mukha̍ ̇s, in (a) prati̩kāra̍, and ¦

in the vi̩pāka̍ also̩, (tis) from (being) a̩na̍pe̩kṣi̍n. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍ ̇s, these satva̍ ¦

a̍cārya̩ kalpā̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.21 ||

Kārikā Dvāviṃśā

For (a) satva̍ kṛtya̩ a̩rtha̍, (are) these u̩dyukta̍ ̇d; ¦

for those sa̩mbhāra̍ ̇ng, they are pūra̩ya̍nti ̇d; in whi̍ch, |

for those sa̩mbhṛta̍ ̇ng, they are moca̩ya̍nti ̇d, qui̩ckly̍; ¦

for the vi̩pakṣa̍, are they hāpa̩ya̍nti ̇d also̩. || 19.22 ||

Kārikā Trayoviṃśā

With these loka̍ sa̩mpatti̍ ̇s, with these ci̩tra̍ ̇s, ¦

with these a̩loka̍ ̇s, they are made yoja̩ya̍nti also̩. |

By these pañca̍, by those karma̍ ̇s, these satva̍ ¦

u̍pā̩dhyā̍ya̩ kalpa̍ ̇s, (are) the jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.23 ||

Pratikāra Vibhāge

Kārikā Caturviṃśā

With a̩saktyā̍, and just so̩, in bhoga̍ ̇s, ¦

of śīla̍ also̩, (they are) no̎t by khaṇḍa̩na̍ ̇s. |

The kṛta̩ jñatā̍, (tis) from a̍nu̩yoga̍, a̩nd ¦

in prati̩patti̍, also̩ from yoga̍. || 19.24 ||

Kārikā Pañcaviṃśā

In those ṣa̍ṭ, in those pāra̩mitā̍ ̇s, in thi̩s wa̍y, ¦

the varta̩ ̇ng māna̍ ̇s, ve̩rily, of these dehi̍na ̇s, |

they bhava̍nti, of these bodhi̩sattva̍ ̇s; ¦

that manne̩r, (is) the pratyupa̍kāri̩ṇa̍. || 19.25 ||

Āśāsti Vibhāge

Kārikā Ṣaḍviṃśā

For vṛddhi̍, for hāni̍ also̩, they kāṅkṣa̍nti̩, ¦

of these sattva̍ ̇s, also for pra̩pāca̍na ̇ng. |

The vi̩śeṣa̍ gama̩na̍ ̇ng, (tis) upon the bhūmi̍, ¦

for bodhi̍, and for anu̩ttara̍, a̩lways. || 19.26 ||

Abandhya Prayoga Vibhāge

Kārikā Saptaviṃśā

In the trāsa̩ of hāni̍, upon samu̩tpāda̍ ̇ng, ¦

in the saṃśa̍ya̩ of the cheda̍na̩ ̇ng thereto̍, a̩nd |

in the prati̩patti ̇ng of the a̍va̩vāda̍ also̩, ¦

a̍lwa̩ys, a̩bandhya̍ ̇d shall be, these jina̩ ā̩tma̍ jā̩. || 19.27 ||

Samyak Prayoga Vibhāge

Dāna̍, (tis) of ni̩ṣprati̩kāṅkṣa̍, ¦

of ni̩ḥspṛha̍ ̇ng, once mo̩re, in bhava̍. |

Śīla̍, kṣānti̍ also̩, in eve̍rywa̩y, ¦

(tis) for vīrya̍, in e̩ve̍ry śubha̩ u̩daya̍. || 19.28 ||

Kārikā Navaviṃśā

Withou̩t ā̩rūpya̍, that manne̩r, for dhyā̍na, ¦

(tis) the pra̩jñā̍ a̩nd u̩pāya̍ sa̩ṃhitā̍. |

The sa̩mya̍k ̇t pra̩yoga̍, ˰ of these dhī̩ra̍ ̇s, ¦

(tis) in these ṣa̩ṭ, in these pā̍ra̩mitā̍ ̇s, most assu̩redly. || 19.29 ||

Parihāṇi Viśeṣa Bhāgīya Dharma Vibhāge

Kārikā Triṃśā

Bhoga̩'s sakti̍, tha͈t, ˰ tis for chidra̍tva̩. ¦

Māna̍ś, also̩ like tha̩t, (tis a) sukha̍lli̩kā. |

For ā̩svāda̍na ̇ng, (is) the vi̩kalpa̍, a̩nd ¦

of these dhīra̍ ̇s, the hāni̩ hetu̍ ̇s. || 19.30 ||

Kārikā Ekatriṃśā

Of these sthita̍ ̇s, of these bodhi̩sattva̍ ̇s, ¦

(tis) in prati̩pakṣa̍ ̇s; in tho̩se also̍, |

shall be jñe̩yā̍ ̇d, (a) vi̩śeṣa̍ bhāgī̩yā̍ ̇nt. ¦

Pratirūpaka Bhūta Guṇa Vibhāge

Kārikā Dvātriṃśā

The pra̩tāra̍ṇā̩, thereto̩, (tis a) kuha̍nā; ¦

of sau̩mukhya̍, (tis) also̩ darśa̍nā ̇ng. |

By lobha̍tva, in that ma̩nner, (are) the vṛtti̍ ̇s. ¦

Śānta̩ vā̍k (and) kā̩ya̍tā, (tis) in that ma̩nner. || 19.32 ||

Kārikā Trayastriṃśā

Su̩vā̍k (and) kara̩ṇa̍ sa̩mpa̍t, a̩nd ¦

the prati̩patti̍ vi̩varji̍ta ̇d, |

the̩se, (are) assure̍dly, of bodhi̩sattva̍ ̇s, ¦

for a̩bhūta̍tva̩, these deśi̍ta ̇s. |

From the vi̩paryaya̍ ̇ng, of those (so) pra̩yukta̍ ̇d, ¦

he̩nce, for bhūta̍tva̩, (are) these deśi̍ta ̇s. || 19.33 ||

Vinaya Vibhāge

Kārikā Catustriṃśā

Tho̩se, with these dāna̍ ̇s a̍dyu̩pa̍sa̩ṃhāra̍ ̇ng, ¦

of these sattva̍ ̇s, they vi̩naya̍nti, assure̩dly. |

For the ṣa̍ṭ pra̩kāra̍, for (a) vi̩pakṣa̍, inde̩ed, ¦

these dhīma̍t ̇s, (are) on sarva̩ bhūmi̍. || 19.34 ||

Vyākaraṇa Vibhāge

Kārikā Pañcatriṃśā

The dhīma̍t ̇s vyā̩kara̍ṇa, (tis) in two̩ pa̍rts, ¦

from the kāla̩ of the pudga̍la̩ ̇s bheda̍. |

In bodhi̍, in vyā̩kara̍ṇa also̩, li̩ke tha̎t, ¦

(is) the ma̩ha̍t; a̩nd mo̩reo̍ver, (tis) for udā̩hṛta̍ ̇ng. || 19.35 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṭtriṃśā

No̩t by (an) u̩tpatti̍ ̇ng kṣānti̩ lābha̍ ̇ng, ¦

is (a) māna̩ ̇s ā̩bhoga̍ vi̩hāni̍ta ̇d. |

From the ekī̩ bhāva̍ (of) gama̩tva̍, (tis) also̩, ¦

with sarva̩ buddha̍ (and) jina̩ ā̩tma̍ ja̩. || 19.36 ||

By (a) kṣetra̍, with (a) nāma̍n, ˰ with kāla̍, ¦

by (a) kalpa̩ ̇s nāma̍n, (tis) also̩ tha̍t, aga̩in. |

By (a) pari̩vāra̍ ̇s a̍nu̩vṛtti̍ also, ¦

of the sa̩t dharma̍, (is) tha̩t iṣya̍te ̇d. || 19.37 ||

Niyati Pāta Vibhāge

pāta̍, (tis) in a̩kheda̍, a̩nd for dhīma̍tā. |

These bhāva̩ nāya̍ ̇s also, in sā̩tatya̍ ̇ty, ¦

(are) for these two sa̩mā̍dhāna̩ ̇ng a̩cyuta̍; the̩reto̍, |

Pūjā̍, śikṣā̍, samā̩dāna̍, ¦

karu̩ṇā̍, śubha̩ bhāva̍nā̩, |

a̍pra̩māda̍, that manne̩r, in the a̩raṇya̍, ¦

the śruta̩ a̩rthā̍, (tis) tṛpti̩; like tha̍t also, |

in sarva̩ bhūmi̍ ̇s, of these dhī̩ra̍ ̇s, ¦

ne̩cessa̍rily, (tis to be) ka̩ra̍ṇī̩yatā̍ ̇d. || 19.39 ||

Sātatya Karaṇīya Vibhāge

Kārikā Catvāriṃśā

In these kāma̍ ̇s, for these ādi̎, for (an) ava̩jñāna̍, ¦

in these skhali̩ta̍ ̇s, (tis a) ni̩rīkṣa̍ṇā̩, |

(tis) duḥkha̍ ̇s a̍dhi̩vāsa̍nā; and also̩, like tha̍t, ¦

(tis) of kuśa̩la̍, a̩nd bhāva̍nā̩. || 19.40 ||

Kārikā Ekacatvāriṃśā

The anā̩svāda̍, (tis) in su̩kha̍, a̩nd ce̍rtainly, ¦

of these ni̩mitta̍ ̇s, a̩kalpa̍nā. |

The sā̩tatya̍ shalt be kara̩ṇī̍ya ̇d, therefo̩re; ¦

(tis) for dhīma̍tā, at eve̩ry bhūmi̍. || 19.41 ||

Pradhāna Vastu Vibhāge

Kārikā Dvācatvāriṃśā

The dharma̩ ̇s dāna̍, ˰ (tis) śīla̩ ̇s śuddhi̍, ¦

no̩t (an) u̩tpa̍tti̩ ̇ng kṣānti̍; in thi̩s wa̍y also̩, |

the vī̍rya̩ (to) ā̩rambha̍, in the mahā̩yā̍na, ¦

(tis) the antyā̍ sa̩karu̍ṇā ̇s sthi̩ti̍. |

The pra̩jñā̍, of the pāra̩mitā̍ ̇s, and ¦

the pra̩dhāna̍, of these dhī̩ma̍t ̇s, (are) the ma̩ta̍. || 19.42 ||

Prajñapti Vyavasthāna Vibhāge

Kārikā Trayaścatvāriṃśā

Vidyā̍, the sthāna̩ ̇ng vyava̩sthāna̍, ¦

from the sūtra̍ ̇s a̍dyā̩kāra̍ of bhe̩da̍, |

shall be jñeya̩ ̇d, (tis) the dharma̍ ̇s vyava̩sthāna̍, ¦

of dhī̩ma̍t ̇s, upon sarva̩ bhūmi̍ ̇s. || 19.43 ||

Kārikā Catuścatvāriṃśā

Once mo̩re, for a satya̍ vyava̩sthāna̍, ¦

sapta̩dhā̍, (tis) the tatha̩tā̍, from śra̩yā̍t, |

catu̩rdhā̍, and tri̩dhā̍ also̩; thus so̍, ¦

(tis) the yukti̩ yāna̍ ̇s vyava̩sthiti̍. || 19.44 ||

Kārikā Pañcacatvāriṃśā

Funda̩menta̍lly also̩, the ma̍na̩skāra̍, ¦

sa̩mya̍g ̇d dṛ̩ṣṭi̍ ̇ng, (tis) the phala̩ a̩nvitā̍ ̇d. |

With these pra̩māṇa̍ ̇s, the vi̩caya̍ ̇ng, for the aci̩ntya̍, ¦

shall be kno̩wn, (tis) the yukti̍ of (a) catu̩ṣṭaya̍. || 19.45 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṭcatvāriṃśā

From (an) āśa̍ya, from deśa̩na̍ ̇ng, a̩nd thus so̍, ¦

from the pra̩yoga̍, from the sa̩mbhṛti̍ thereto̩, |

from the samu̩dā̍gama̩ of bheda̍ also̩, ¦

the tri̍vi̩dha̍ yāna̍, (tis) iṣya̩te̍ ̇d. || 19.46 ||

Paryeṣaṇā Vibhāge

Kārikā Saptacatvāriṃśā

Tis ā̩gantu̍katva̩ paryeṣā̍, ¦

one̩ to the o̩the̍r, upon nāma̩ and vastu̍, |

from the pra̩jñapti̍, of the dvi̩vidha̍; he̩rei̍n, ¦

of ta̩nmātra̍tva, inde̩ed, (tis) the e̩ṣa̍ṇā. || 19.47 ||

Prati̩ṣṭhā̍, (tis a) bhoga̩ ̇s bīja̍, indeed, ¦

for the ni̩mitta̍, of bandha̩na̍ ̇ng, verily. |

With these sā̩śraya̍ ̇s, these citta̩ caitta̍ ̇s, in soo̩th, ¦

they are badhya̍nte̩ ̇d, in thi̍s manner, with sa̩bīja̩ka̍ ̇s. || 19.49 ||

Befo̍re, (t'was) for being sthāpi̩ta̍ ̇d, whi̩ch also̍, ¦

(is) the ni̩mitta̍, whi̩ch, (is) for sthita̍ ̇ng, itse̩lf. |

Sarva̍, the vi̩bhāva̍ya̩t dhīmā̍t, ¦

Kārikā Ekapañcāśā

Tatha̍tā̩, (tis) the ā̩lamba̍na̩, for jñāna̍; ¦

dvaya̩ grāha̍ ̇ng vi̩varji̍ta ̇d. |

The dauṣṭhu̍lya̩ kāya̍ ̇s ˰ pra̩tyakṣa̍, ¦

Tathatā̩ (tis), of ā̩lambana̍ ̇s, for jñāna̍, ¦
