are a profound conjuncture in non·transcendence; ¦

for those signs, those, are of these sages. || 20.1 ||

In an all around grasping, with foremost confidence, grasping ¦

in the depths of exhaustion, in duality fully grasping, |

from the domain of karma, and from undertaking a practice also, ¦

shall be for knowing broadly, the sign five fold. || 20.2 ||

Upon The Householder Proceeding Onward To Agreement A Division, Three Ślokas

These Bodhisattvās, indeed, always ¦

are they existing, these 'turners of the wheel'. |

In another life, the coveting of fruition longing, and ¦

a righteous circle; alas, tis like that, and |

the motionless consciousness longing also, of these Bodhisattvas. ¦

In these sentient beings, the fundament of mind (tis) sought after. |

The unpurified, and the increasingly purified also, ¦

are the well purified, upon all bhumis. || 20.6 ||

From aspiration, from equanimity, from thought, ¦

from foremost mastery, fully comprehending, |

tis of the linage, drawing out from that, and also ¦

The śūnyatā, of the highest retention of self, ¦

in karma's cessation, tis the fundamental state. |

Having taken up, with these contentments, with these meditations, ¦

in a lifetime of desire, from that, tis the highest. || 20.10 ||

Unto The Characteristic A Division, Having Begun (2)

Thence also, of these awakened views, ¦

in mundane existence, is the appearance like a mirage. |

Without also, being to the thought's full detriment; ¦

of these sentient beings, tis an all around maturation. || 20.11 ||

On rebirth also, having fully thought out, ¦

of complete affliction, is the guarding. |

The one pointed path embraced, ¦

In the formless state, thereto, tis the renunciation of pleasure, ¦

Of these meditative absorptions and formulaic invocations, and ¦

of awakened intellect also, thus so, is increasing purity. |

From this also, from the principle characteristic, ¦

The increasingly purified view, the well purified moral precept, ¦

tis steadfast, the dharma manifested pure consciousness. |

Upon the continuity of total affliction the virtue of breaking, ¦

(tis) an unmeasurable single moment catching hold the intellect. || 20.15 ||


Kārikā Ṣoḍaśā

Upon A Plateau Standing, And For A Pudgala Division, Having Begun (2)

Disregarding the abode of little purity, also ¦

perhaps ought be, in true maturity, a most auspicious one of great psychic perfection, |

accomplished in form, and in teaching also. ¦

The śakta practioner of kundaliṇi, so anointed, verily, is a Bodhisattva. || 20.16 ||

Unto the essence of all dharmas, having penetrated into, in this world, ¦

The prajñā's wisdom, indeed, are two sorts perceptible. || 20.17 ||

For the dharma's essence, thus so, are ignorance ¦

and knowledge foremost; the turns of life, tis like that, also. |

For these insights, is the field of one's meandering actions; from that, ¦

in a dual step, thus so, is the fundamental state. || 20.18 ||

The Teaching, For A Foundation, Having Begun (3)

Of these teachings, are the meditations going also, ¦

to fruition; the other one, for the caturvidha, |

tis the unmeasurable formless state, the unembellished mental state, ¦

the meandering about, primarily for fruition. || 20.19 ||

That, just so, tis strong karmic seeds of mental conditioning, ¦

for a second time to fruition, sought after. |

The field of purity, and, of these sentient beings, ¦

Of these trance like, samādhi, incantations also, ¦

the finality, (tis) the highest fruition. |

Of liberation from one's emancipation ˰ the wisdom, ¦

therefore, in these others, (tis) the purification. |

From the four stages of knowledge, from a strong obstruction, ¦

these oppositions, are from a choice, thereto. || 22.23 ||

The unperfected ones, also those perfected ones, ¦

these shall be known, are all stages. |

The perfected ones, thereto, are the unperfected ones. ¦

Perfection, shall be increasingly known, ¦¦

which manner, in the principles of consciousness, tis by action. |

That, tis the conceptual consciousness, from knowledge. ¦¦

Those minds without thoughts guiding, are also, of that, just so. || 20.25 ||

The meditative state, moreover, is a perfection, ¦

for being thoughtless, on all bhūmi plateaus, |

from the inner conscious self to be realized. ¦

Of Buddhas, tis from the indriya's sense object, thereto. || 20.26 ||

Not vehement desire, not also an avaricious small heart, ˰ neither being passionate, nor lethargic, ¦

nor unkindness — compassion is going not the one of wrong views; ˰ competent, wavering, is miserable. |

Not an agitated intellect, with these contentments, not also miserable, ˰ suffering not either, doth one well abide, ¦

a true friend, supporting a knowledge on highest; ˰ reverence, tis greatest, upon the teacher. || 20.29 ||


Kārikā Triṃśā

On These Stages, The Completion, Upon Well Grasping The Characteristic Distinction (2)

For every meritorious assemblage, for the virtuous one, ˰ having made, tis another holding fast. ¦

Upon perfectly awakened knowledge, tis one brought to respectfully bow, day by day, ˰ one whom, indeed, is the highest expedient means knowing. |

A living being, in self emanating existence, tis always a splendid beam of light, ˰ sports a supranormal cognition, by these guṇa attributes. ¦

By all desires, standing above, the guṇa's ocean, ˰ shall be known, tis he, the awakened nature born. || 20.30 ||


Upon A Well Praised Merit, Therefore, In This Way, A Division

Therefore, In This Way, Upon A Well Praised Merit A Division, One Śloka

In equanimity, the insightful observation, tis to these going, also. ¦

A duality of five natures, is the thought. |

For wisdom, tis a well praised merit, indeed, ¦

in every manner, in all these bhūmi stages. || 20.31 ||

For observation, for awakened intellect, for the approaching, ¦

of the true method, and for a focused practice, |

the very pungency hath manifested a joyfulness. ¦

The sympathetic unselfish muditā joy, is by that; tis told. || 20.32 ||

From immorality's satiety without stain, ¦

stainless is the bhūmi stage; tis told. |

Of the great dharma's splendour, ¦

from mind and heart, is also the splendour making. || 20.33 ||

The lustre of these beings, whom, are bearing up others. ¦

These awakened consciousness views, are burning irritants. |

The arciṣmatī bhūmi, thus so, that, tis from yoga. ¦

She is the bhūmi stage, from duality's radiance. || 20.34 ||

Of these sentient beings, the ripening to perfection, tis also ¦

of self reflection, and protection. |

By these sages of wisdom, is subdued, the suffering. ¦

The durjayā bhumi, (is) by that; (tis) told. || 20.35 ||

From facing the moment, of duality, in this world, ¦

of mundane sensory existence, moreover, from being without motion, |

twas said, indeed, the abhimukhī bhūmi, ¦

From a single going path embracing, ¦

the bhūmi, dūraṅgamā, the difficult to go beyond, tis the perception. |

The duality fully knowing, tis from wavering. ¦

The infallible analytical knowledge, from the contemplative intellect, well done!, ¦

the bhūmi, sādhumatī, the good intelligence, tis consciousness. |

Manifesting the highest method, thou art. ¦
