Kārikā Prathamaḥ

The mahā̩ ā̩śraya̍'s ā̍rambha̩'ng (of a) phala̍ u̍daya̩'ng ā̩tmi̍kā̩, ¦

for (a) jina̍'s ā̍tma̩ jānā̍'ng, (tis) prati̩patti̍ iṣya̩te̍'d. |

The̍n, (is a) mahā̩ dāna̍ (and a) mahā̍ a̍dhi̩vāsa̍nā. ¦

(Tis) the mahā̍ a̍rtha sa̩mpāda̍na̩'ng — shall be kṛtya̍'d — kā̩rikā̍. || 5.1 ||

Kārikā Dvitīyaḥ

In the herea̍fte̩r, having labdhvā̍'d, (an) ā̍tma samā̩na citta̍tā, ¦

(tis) by se̩lf na̍ture, besi̩des; a̍lso; (tis) for the most śreṣṭha̩'d tara̍ unto i̍ṣṭatā̩, in the para̍'st. |

That ma̍nner, (tis) from the ā̍tma̩n, othe̍rwise, the̩ a̍rtha vi̩śiṣṭa̍ sa̩ñjñina̍. ¦

Svakā̍ a̍rthatā̩, whi̍ch?, whi̩ch of the̍m!, (is) the̩ para̍'st a̍rtha̩tā. || 5.2 ||

Kārikā Tṛtīyaḥ

The paratra̩ loka̍, no̩t tha̍t manne̩r, the a̍tini̩rdaya̍ ¦

pra̩varta̍te's — with (a) tāpa̩na'ng karma̍ṇā, in the ri̩pu. |

Whereo̍f, for para̩'st a̩rtha̍, in bhṛśa̩ duḥkha̍ tāpa̩na̍'ng, ¦

the kṛpā̍, by ā̍tma̩ka̍, in the svā̩tma̍n, sa̩mpra̍varta̩te̍'s.₁ || 5.3 ||

Kārikā Caturthaḥ

The ni̍kṛṣṭa̩'st the madhya̍ (and) the u̍ttama̩'st dharma̍tā, in sthi̩ta̍'ng, ¦

(tis a) su̩deśa̍na̩ (for) a̩varja̍na̩tā̍, the ava̩tāra̍ṇā |

vi̩nīti̍'ng, on the a̩rtha̍, in pari̩pāca̍na'ng śu̩bha̍; ¦

that manne̩r, (is) the a̩va̍vāda̩ sthiti̍'ng buddhi̩ (to) mukti̍. || 5.4 ||

Kārikā Pañcamaḥ

By these guṇa̍'s, these vi̩śiṣṭa̍'s, (tis) sa̩mu̍dā̩gama̍'ng; that manne̩r, ¦

(tis) the kula̩ u̩daya̍'ng, vyā̩kara̍ṇa'ng (to) the abhi̩ṣikta̍tā̩̩'d. |

For tathā̍gata̩ jñāna̍, for (an) anu̩ttara̍ pa̩da̍, ¦

the para̩'st a̩rtha̍, (tis) thi̩s, the tryadhi̍ka̩'d daśa̍ ā̍tma̩ka̍'d. || 5.5 ||

Kārikā Ṣaṣtaḥ

The jana̍ a̍nu̩rūpā̍'ng, avi̩parī̍ta de̩śanā̍, ¦

the niru̩nnatā̍'d, and also, the a̩mamā̍, the vi̩cakṣa̍ṇā̩, |

the kṣa̩mā̍, also̩ the dāntā̍, and the su̩dūra̍ gā̩ akṣayā̍'ng, ¦

of these ji̩na̍ ā̍tma̩'d jāna̍'s, (tis) the prati̩patti̍ u̩ttamā̍'st. || 5.6 ||

Kārikā Saptamaḥ

In mahā̩ bhaya̍, doth the kāmi̩ jana̍, pra̩varta̍te̩. ¦

In cala̍, in vi̩paryāsa̍ su̩kha̍, (is) bhava̩ priya̍'d. |

One̩ by one̍, in ā̩dhi̍pra̩śama̍'ng, (is) the śama̩ priya̍'d. ¦

That time̩, verily, in sarva̍ a̍dhi̩gama̍, (is) kṛpā̩ the ātmaka̍. || 5.7 ||

Kārikā Aṣtamaḥ

The ja̩na, vi̩mūḍha̍'d, for (a) sva̩sukha̩ artha̍, (is) u̩dyata̍'d. ¦

The̩n, thus so̍, having a̍prā̩pya̍'d, on para̩'st, just so̍, (is) to (a) du̩ḥkha̍tā. |

The̩n, indee̍d, dhī̩ra, (tis) assure̍dly, for (a) para̩'st artha̍, u̩dya̍ta'd; ¦

(a) dvaya̩ artha̍, havi̩ng ā̍dhāya̩'d, tis the para̍'st, thus, to ni̩rvṛti̍. || 5.8 ||

Kārikā Navamaḥ

Which manne̍r, which manne̩r indeed, in (an) akṣa̍'s vi̩citra̍ go̩ca̍ra, ¦

pra̩varta̍te's, cāra̩'ng gata̍'ng, the jina̩ ā̩tma̍'d ja̩. |

That manne̍r, that manne̩r, (is) the yukta̍'d sa̩māna̍tā, with these pada̩'s, ¦

for (a) hita̩, in sattva̍'s, to abhi̩sa̍ṃskaro̩ti̍ tha͈t. || 5.9 ||

Kārikā Daśamaḥ

The̍n, i̩n the a̍sva̩tantrī̍ kṛta̩'ng doṣa̩ ceta̍na, ¦

unto the jana̍, not to the sa̩ndoṣa̍, u̩paiti̍'s the buddhi̩ma̍t. |

By a̍kāma̩ kāra̍, veri̩ly, these vi̍pra̩patti̍'s, ¦

i̩n the jana̍, they bha̩vanti̍; ju̩st so̍, the̩ kṛpā̍, from vi̩vṛddhi̍. || 5.10 ||

Kārikā Ekādaśaḥ

Bhava̩ gati̍'ng —with sa̩kala̍—, (is) the su̩rpa̎ssi̩ng gantrī̍, ¦

the para̍ma'st śama̍ anu̩gatā̍'ng, pra̩patti̍'ng, i̩n this way. |

By vi̩vidha̍ guṇa̩ gaṇa̍'ng, (are) ever vi̩vardha̍'ng māna̍'s. ¦

The jaga̩t, ha̍vi̩ng u̍pa̩guhya̍'d, alwa̩ys, (is) kṛpā̍, with the āśa̩ya. || 5.11 ||
